DRIVER/YARD OPERATIVE

We are looking for a flexible person for a dual role of Driver/Yard
Operative within a busy timber merchant.
The role will be mainly as a Driver delivering goods on our 3.5
tonne pickup however there will be some occasions where you will be
required to assist in the Yard.
Main duties: • Delivering goods on a 3.5 tonne pickup (full
driving licence essential) • Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
by hand or with a forklift truck • Picking and packing
orders • Serving and checking customer collections • Keeping
work areas clean and tidy • Ensuring all duties are carried out as part of
a safe working environment in strict compliance with all health and safety
policies and procedures (including manual handling).
The Package
- Permanent
contract.
- Full
time hours, typically 41 & 1/2 hours (Mon-Fri)
- Pay
rate £12.00 per hour.
- 20
days annual leave plus bank holidays
Our Requirements
- Suitable
level of fitness to be able to carry products such as Posts, Postmix,
Garden Sleepers etc.
- Friendly
and customer service focused, with good interpersonal and communication
skills.
- Flexibility
towards tasks and hours
- Full
UK driving licence.
This is a key customer facing role, so you will need great interpersonal
skills. A forklift truck license would be desirable, however not essential as
training can be provided. Experience in a busy timber yard or working with
fencing & decking would be advantageous. You’ll have previous experience as
a Driver and hold a full UK driving license. What we are looking for is someone
with a friendly and flexible personality who is happy to communicate face to
face with customers.

Self-Employed Fencing

insurances and CSCS registered.
